BIO
Laura Willis is a digital wellness expert on a mission to help people achieve more balance and “Digital Harmony” in their lives.
In 2016 she launched Shine Offline, the UK’s first training consultancy dedicated to helping people improve their digital wellbeing. Inspired by her own journey through digital overwhelm to create a healthier relationship with technology, Laura had the privilege of helping thousands of employees from all over the world. Clients included UK government bodies, the NHS, O2, Warner Brothers Disney, the Crown Prosecution Service, and nearly 30 law firms.
With a background in Social Psychology, Laura brings a down-to-earth, honest approach to everything she does. Laura is an associate of the Mindful Business Charter, Mental Health First Aid trained, and a lived-experience speaker for MHFA England.
As a wife and mum of two, Laura understands first-hand the struggles families face in managing tech use at home. And as someone who works primarily from home, she is all too familiar with the pressures of today’s always-on culture and how it affects our work life balance and wellbeing.
Laura’s goal is simple: to help people thrive in this always-connected world by offering practical solutions to improve their digital habits. Passionate about staying current and relevant, Laura loves collaborating with others to make sure her work is as effective as possible.
Technology’s value at work is undeniable – we can get on with our tasks, stay abreast of project updates, work alongside colleagues when we’re not sitting together. However, overwhelm, distraction and exhaustion are just some of the side effects of a 24/7 working culture, and this not only impacts the quality of the work being produced but also employee mental wellbeing.
