BIO
Morgan grew up with his grandparents in Cornwall after he was taken into care at the age of 6. Morgan’s mother suffered from schizophrenia, and his father, a refugee from the Bosnian war, was living in Canada.
Lacking any apparent sporting talent, Morgan’s dream of competing at the Olympics seemed impossibly distant. However, at age 11, he discovered rowing; a demanding sport and the perfect outlet to channel the resilience he'd forged through his turbulent childhood.
This resilience proved instrumental in overcoming the relentless failures and hardships of elite sport. It took 18 years of resilience for Morgan to finally achieve his dream of competing at the Olympic Games in which he won Gold.
From the purpose he learned through childhood neglect to the perspective he gained from stories of his father at war. Morgan shares the components of his resilience through the stories that taught them to him.

“I had the privilege of attending Morgan's recent presentation to the juniors at Walton Rowing Club on "Process - Focusing on the Inputs to Create Amazing Outputs," and I can confidently say it was nothing short of inspiring for me and the kids who listened in awe. Morgan's insights into the meticulous processes that led him to achieve his Olympic gold medal were both enlightening and motivating.
His ability to break down the importance of quality inputs—whether it be training, nutrition, or mental preparation—demonstrated how each element plays a crucial role in the overall success of an athlete. Morgan shared personal anecdotes that illustrated how he meticulously crafted his training regimen, emphasising that every small detail mattered in the pursuit of excellence. What struck me most was his passion and dedication to the process. Morgan's journey to the podium was not just about the end goal; it was about the relentless commitment to refining his inputs day in and day out. His presentation resonated deeply, reminding us that success is not merely a destination, but a journey shaped by the choices we make along the way.
Morgan's story is a testament to the power of process, and his ability to convey this message with authenticity and enthusiasm left a lasting impact on everyone in the audience. His description of what was going through his mind on the start line of the Olympic final was brilliantly done - everyone who’d raced at any level could relate to what he was saying - he made the situation so human and normal. I walked away feeling inspired to continue to apply the same principles in my own life, understanding that with the right focus on inputs, amazing outputs are not just possible—they are inevitable.
Thank you Morgan, for sharing your journey and for reminding us all that greatness is built on a foundation of intentionality and hard work.”
Christopher Leonard, HR Director, PIMCO
“Morgan's utter strength is his humility in telling his very personal and very human story. From a humble and challenging start in life, Morgan epitomises strength of character and the conviction to achieve your dreams. He speaks with passion and honesty; his achievements are all the more remarkable by how he describes the many obstacles he has faced, how he confronted them head on and how in reaching his ultimate goal of gaining a seat at the Paris Olympics, he was able to go on and achieve a feat that so few people do.
He is an accomplished speaker and punctuates his account with images and film that enables the audience to feel as if they were truly there with him, seeing him cross the finish line and punching the air with happiness.
You cannot help but be inspired by Morgan- he is an exceptional person with an equally exceptional story.”
Claire White, Headteacher, Bodmin College
