Bio

Patrick is a recovering alcoholic and addict who suffered in silence at home and in the business world. In July 2019, after spending six figures on alcohol and cocaine over a 16-year period, becoming homeless and losing everything, he went into rehab at the Priory Woodbourne in Birmingham.

Patrick left a football academy at 18 then suffered a serious accident, falling through a roof on a building site.  Patrick embarked on a corporate career where he started earning lots of money working in Sales in SAAS - he began feeling the pressure of this fast-paced industry.  Patrick started drinking heavily and abusing cocaine, which ultimately resulted in him becoming homeless whilst hiding the issue from his employers and peers.  He discusses the impact on his mental health and how he ultimately became sober and clean after six weeks in the Priory Woodbourne Hospital to get clean and sober.  The turnaround has been inspirational.

Upon noticing huge problems in the business world with organisations struggling to cope with the stigma around alcoholism and addiction, Patrick became an inspirational Speaker where he talks about the rollercoaster of his life and discusses his own experiences of mental health issues, hiding addiction and alcohol culture in the corporate world from construction sites to offices.

He talks about spotting addiction in the workplace and discusses the impact on employees including poor mental health, lack of sleep, depression, anxiety and the knock-on effect to the businesses, including high staff turnover and team tension.

Patrick opens-up on casual weekend usage and how the disease of addiction is progressive and could affect anyone in the business and from any background.

Patrick has spoken to employees at a number of large corporates including Balfour Beatty, Virgin Active, JP Morgan and IOSH and this year is running a 16 session roadshow for BAE Systems.
